In the heart of Lutry, the Caveau des vignerons welcomes its customers in a huge wood and stone wine cellar where they can socialise and enjoy a glass of wine in a typical warm atmosphere. With its pretty town centre, lively lakeshore and charming transport, Lutry is the ideal wine tourism destination.
On the shores of Lake Geneva, Lutry is known for its charming mediaeval streets. Right on the Grand-Rue, the Caveau des vignerons maintains this ambiance in a wood wine cellar, decorated with portraits of celebrities.
Behind the bar, 25 producers of appellations Villette and Lutry take turns in serving and describing their wines. As with everywhere in the UNESCO Lavaux wine region, the star grape variety is white chasselas. The cellar is open from Tuesday to Saturday, between 5 and 9 p.m., and Saturday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Outside these opening times, companies and groups of 20 to 100 people can book the wine cellar for a drinks party accompanied with local culinary specialities.
To complement the wine tasting experience, there are plenty of wine tourism excursions from Lutry: walks through the vines or along the lakeshore, cruises from the CGN landing stage or tours around the vineyard villages on the Lavaux Express tourist train.
